The Narnia Tag

So, February is #FantasyMonth, aaand it’s almost over before I can even start participating. *sobs* I am SO scheduling more time to focus on it next year. Anyway, Jenelle Schmidt created “February is Fantasy Month” in 2016 in which we get to celebrate all things Fantasy all month long! Each year has a theme, and this year’s is Fandoms! Which I’m really excited about because I have a LOT of fandoms that aren’t just fantasy, (most, however, are fantasy because I am a fantasy-loving-fangirl who loves dragons, elves, mystical worlds and daring adventures. ^_^) And today I’m here with a tag about one of my all-time favourite fandoms, The Chronicles of Narnia!

This tag was created by S.J. Barnard, you can read the original post here.

Rate of Narnia Fanatics:

01. Nostalgic Fanatic—You read the book and/or watched the movies as a child and the word Narnia gives you a warm feeling

02. Serious Fanatic—You rediscovered the wonder of Narnia after you were older and have read the books and watched the movies

03. Maniacal Fanatic—You have lived Narnia from childhood, hid in closets on more accounts than is healthy, have read and watched all the movies including the BBC version

Okay, I really, really want to claim Maniacal Fanatic, buuut, I have never seen the BBC versions of the movies. *hides in the closet* So, I am higher than a Serious Fanatic, but not quite a Maniacal Fanatic.

The questions…

Who’s your favorite Pevensie child?

Do you even know how hard a question this is!? *splutters incoherently* Okay, fine, if forced to choose, I pick Lucy. I just love her pure wonderment when she first arrives in Narnia and how she always believes in Aslan and just… I love her. ^_^

What is the most underrated book in Narnia?

The Horse and His Boy. I love that book and really enjoyed Shasta and Aravis’ relationship. Also, we get more time with the grown-up Pevensies. 😀

Who is your favorite Narnian king?

Again, with the hard question! XD Caspian! Though, don’t ask me to choose between the book Caspian and the Disney movie Caspian, both are different and I like them. XD (Don’t throw anything at me okay? I enjoy having my two separate Narnias, I’m weird like that. ;p)

Who is your favorite Narnia queen?

Let’s face it, all these questions are going to be hard. I really liked Susan as a queen, it seemed she was at her best then and wasn’t pretending Narnia was just a game. *sniffs* (I’m still not okay with her ending, alright? Not okay.)

Which non-human Narnian do you like best?

Reepicheep! He is SO cute! XD And I love his friendship with Eustace.

Which book deserves a movie?

All the ones that Disney didn’t do. I was so hoping they would continue with the series. I really love Liam Neeson as Aslan. But if I can only pick one, I would choose The Magician’s Nephew. I really want to see Narnia’s creation story and it would be fun to have the White Witch return. XD

What is one thing you did as a Narnia fan that you do not regret?

The time I binge-watched all three movies in Spanish. I really wanted to watch them, but couldn’t justify sitting around for hours watching movies, so I told Mom I was going to be working on my Spanish by watching them with English subtitles. XD Yeah, I just did it so I could watch them. #NoRegrets

I tag: Tara Savanna @ Tower in the Plains // Jorja Ayres @ Polka Dot Pens // Nicole Dust @ Legend of a Writer // Issabelle, Katherine, & Alana @ Teen Writers’ Nook // Christine Smith @ Bright Words in Darkened Worlds // Ribbon Ash @ Virtual Paper // And anyone else who wants to do it!

Are you participating in Fantasy Month? What’s your Narnia Fanatic rating? Which Narnia book is your favourite?

Tell me in the comments! 😀

    1. Haha, yay! I’m not alone. XD Both versions are really great! I can understand how some people don’t like how much the Disney movies changed things, but I still love both. ^_^

  2. Oh my goodness, I LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia! I actually just read the books for the first time because I received them as a Christmas gift, and they are AMAZING. I already loved C.S. Lewis but had not read Narnia, so I asked for the series and it is so so good!
Have you heard of the book “A Family Guide to Narnia: Biblical Truths in C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia”? I HIGHLY recommend that book. It goes in-depth into each chapter of each book and explains all the biblical parallels. I was just blown away when I read only the first part of the book, about the first chapter of The Magician’s Nephew. I had known Lewis meant to teach biblical truth in his fantasy series, but I hadn’t realized how deeply he integrated the Bible into his every word. It’s truly amazing when you realize how close Lewis was to the Bible and to God’s Word. He’s definitely someone to emulate.

    1. Yay! The Chronicles of Narnia and a pretty big part of my childhood. 😀 That’s so cool you just read them! And double cool you got them as Christmas gifts! 😉
I *think* I’ve heard of that book before. It sounds amazing! I will definitely look into it. ^_^ Thanks for recommending it! ❤

  3. EEP! I loved this tag and I adored seeing your answers! I’ve never actually seen the old BBC films either, so I’m right there with ya! But hey, reading the books is the most important part, right? 🙂

SO MUCH YES TO LUCY. I think she’s my favorite character as well. Though it’s hard to choose because they’re ALL amazing, but Lucy is such an inspiring character, one I think we all can look up to. I just love her so, so much. ❤

AND REEPICHEEP. Oh man, he’s so great!

I was so sad Disney didn’t keep making films. I was especially hoping for a Silver Chair adaptation, as that’s my favorite book! But The Magician’s Nephew is probably my second favorite! I would ADORE to see it adapted on the big screen. It’d be gorgeous.*dreamy sigh*

That is hilarious you binge watched the movies in Spanish! XDDD Perks of being a homeschooler: EVERYTHING can be counted as schoolwork, right? *grins*

Thank you so much for tagging me! I definitely need to do this one!

    1. Awww, thank you! ^_^ Lol, yes! Reading the books is the most important part! 🙂

I love all the characters, but like you said, so much yes to Lucy. ^_^ ❤

Yes! ^_^ I really love him in the movies. 😀

Ugh, yes! After Voyage of the Dawn Treader I was so hoping they would continue with the Silver Chair, *sobs* especially since I loved all the actors and actresses they had. Liam Neeson will always be my Aslan. ❤

*grins* I thought I was so smart sneaking that past Mom. XD Defff a perk of being a homeschooler. XD

You're welcome! I can't wait to see your answers! ^_^

Okay, gotta be honest. I’ve only read like #2, BUT I’ve seen all the movies and that’s gotta count for something, right? 😉 Also, I LOOOOVED your answer to the last question. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Did you ever learn any Spanish words? I think I’d be a nostalgic fanatic. And since I’ve only read #2, we’re gonna say that’s my favorite. (Bonus: my favorite Narnia movie is Prince Caspian. I have no idea what he’s like in the books, but in the movies, he’s AWESOME!!) THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for the tag!!!!!!!!!! Since Alana’s already done it, I guess it’s now down to me and Kat. 😉 Ooooh, also HAPPY NATIONAL TELL A FAIRY TALE DAY, JEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. D’awww!!! Issabelle! You are so sweet!!! Your comments always make me walk away feeling very happy!!! I’m so glad you enjoy my posts! ^_^ NARNIA FOREVER!!! <333 Does that mean you've only read The Horse and His Boy or do you mean you've only read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? (I'm confused if you mean my answer to question #2, but technically, it does count as book #2 as well if you view Lion, Witch, Wardrobe as book #1 instead of The Magician's Nephew.) Hehe, seeing all the movies does count! 😉 I thought I was so smart doing that. XDDD I did! But, my Spanish is a little rusty now, eheh. Lol! (Oooh! Caspian is awesome! :D) You're sooo welcome! Ack! *facepalm* How did I forget Alana had already done it? I even read her post too. *hides* I've had a lot on my mind lately, so oopsie? Anyway, I look forward to reading yours and Katherine's post! Happy National Tell a Fairy Tale Day to you too!!! ^_^ ❤

      1. Aww, girl, you’re too sweet!!!!!!!!! Hahaha, sorry. I shoulda clarified. I meant I’ve only read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but I was like nine maybe, so I don’t remember much. XD I really need to go through that series. XD Haaha, girl, that’s TOTALLY okay!!!! I’ve had a lot on my mind lately as well, so I COMPLETELY 100% understand!!!!!! I had only mentioned that, so you wouldn’t think Alana didn’t want to do the post if it was just me and Kat and all. YAAAAAY!!!!!! <333

        1. *hugs* ^_^ Lol, that’s alright. 😉 The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was wonderful! Wow, you read it younger than I did. XD I think I was about twelve when I first read the books? You totally need to read the whole series!! 😀 Lol, thanks. ^_^ Okie-dokie! 😉 <333
