Cover Reveal

Cover Reveal: Shadow by Kara Swanson

I am SO thrilled to join in the cover reveal for Shadow by Kara Swanson!

It will release July 2021 from Enclave Publishing in a limited-edition hardcover! But if you’re too excited to wait, you can preorder here. 😉

Shadow is a Peter Pan retelling/sequel and is the second book in the Heirs of Neverland duology.

About The Book

Spoilers for Book 1!!!

Peter Pan has crash-landed back on Neverland. But this is not the island he remembers.

Desperate to rescue Claire and the fractured Lost Boys, Peter must unravel what truly tore his dreamland apart. But with each step, he is haunted by more of his own broken memories. Not even Pan himself is what he seems.

Claire Kenton is chained to a pirate ship, watching the wreckage of Neverland rocked by tempests. When she finally finds her brother, Connor is every bit as shattered as the island. Claire may have pixie dust flowing in her veins—but the light of Neverland is flickering dangerously close to going out forever.

To rescue Neverland from the inescapable shadow, the boy who never grew up and the girl who grew up too fast will have to sacrifice the only thing they have left: each other.

About the Author

As the daughter of missionaries, KARA SWANSON spent her childhood running barefoot through the lush jungles of Papua New Guinea. Able to relate with characters dropped into a unique new world, she quickly fell in love with the fantasy genre.

Swanson is the award-winning author of The Girl Who Could See and Peter Pan retelling/sequel Dust (Enclave Publishing, July 2020). She helps young writers explore their passions as a faculty member of the Young Writer’s Workshop and also offers her own author coaching services.

Kara is passionate about crafting stories of light shattering darkness, connecting with readers, and becoming best friends with a mermaid—though not necessarily in that order.

You can connect with Kara online where she chats about coffee, fairy tales and bookish things on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

  3. IT’S JUST SO BEAUTIFULLLLL. Dust has like one of my favorite covers EVER and this one is equally as stunning. I love it so much!

I NEED to read Dust. I had heard it ended a bit cliffhanger-ish? Sooo I’ve been waiting for this sequel. *sheepish grin* Once July gets here I totally plan to devour them BOTH and I am EXCITEDDD. Peter Pan is an extremely special story to me–one of my favorites of ever. So I cannot wait to read this retelling! Plus, I’ve read Kara Swanson’s The Girl Who Could See and LOVED IT, so I’m ecstatic to read something else by her! 😀

Ahhhh!!! YES! You need to read Dust! Hah, yes, it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. *grins* It’s a nice ending in and of itself, but it’s just akldghadk; I NEED BOOK 2 NOOOOWWW!!! *sobs* Heee! Same! I plan to reread Dust right before reading Shadow. It’d be so cool if we read them at the same time. 😉 I’ve been wanting to read The Girl Who Could See!!! I’m so glad to hear you loved it, that bumps it up on my TBR. ;D

  4. Gorgeous cover!!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I thought it would be black. I think it was because of the name of the book. XD
I didn’t know that there was going to be a sequel to Dust so this is really exciting for me to see! I really need to read Dust. I wanted to for a while but this sequel is really boosting my eagerness to read it so much more!
(I also didn’t read the blurb cause I really didn’t want spoilers for this one.)
