How is November halfway over already!? Who invented a time machine and didn’t bother to tell me? *squints at Doctor Who fans who mutter “Wibbly Wobbly Timey Whimey” and walk into an odd looking telephone booth* (I really need to watch this show. >.> and yes, I know enough to know what the Tardis is so ;p )
I forgot to mention earlier that my goal isn’t 50,000 for this month but 50,000 for my WIP of which I had already written a couple chapters, so if the number of my overall total looks like it jumped drastically, it’s only because I am now adding in the few thousand I had already done but forgot to factor in.
Sooo, with that out of the way, onto the weekly update! 😉
Day 9 – Monday
This day was better for me. If you remember from last week, or if you’re new, I mentioned I was in a slump, but I was able to get out of it and write 2,239. This was also the part when a beloved character from another WIP made his appearance and completely changed how I thought the story would go. Not that I’m complaining, I am LOVING spending more time with my boy who is a pure Wittle Cinnamon Roll (TM) ^_^ To avoid spoilers, I’m going to refer to him as VIP. No, those aren’t his initials. ;p
Day 10 – Tuesday
I had another good day especially since I was nearing my first ball and Charm was beginning to stress over all the things. *smile smile* Do I enjoy making my characters suffer? Why, whatever gave you that idea? *grins* Though, some of Ellar’s scenes are breaking my heart, *sobs* my poor boi. 😦 I ended the day with 2,310 words.
Day 11 – Wednesday
And this was the day I finally wrote the first ball! After nearly 20,000 words I was at last able to write it… and Ellar flees not a thousand words later. Heh. I wasn’t expecting him to bolt so soon. I knew he was eventually going to have to run away, but I thought he and Charm would have more time. *shrugs* At least they keep me on my toes. 😉 My word count was 1,834.
Day 12 – Thursday
Eheheheh… 59 words. *hides* Life is very mean to my word count goals… but I did have a major headache so it was a surprise I got any writing done.
Day 13 – Friday
Ookay, in my defense, my family and I took a road trip that lasted most of the day. We were up at 5 am so that says something on just how long our day was. I wasn’t able to write until that night, but I managed to get 450 words in. I can usually write when I’m in a vehicle, but this was family time so I didn’t.
Day 14 – Saturday
Recouping after the road trip. I wrote 793 words. In this session Charm enlists the help of her younger brother and sister, fourteen year old twins Tristin and Elisamarie. Yeah, I forgot to mention last week that apparently Charm isn’t an only child. O.O
Day 15 – Sunday
(I need to find a better way to keep track of my word count, I almost gave myself an extra thousand words due to a miscalculation. <.< >.> >.<) Sooo, I actually didn’t realize I had written 1,710 words and kept double checking my math (especially after the above incident), but apparently I was more productive than I felt? Yay? XD Charm has to deal with her father and others wanting to know who the stranger was while Ellar hides at the manor trying to forget about it. Yeah, he’s taking this whole thing harder than I thought. Poor thing has two more balls to go through.
Week 2 Total
My overall total, including what I had forgotten to add before, is 25,462.
I have now learned not to do math when I can barely keep my eyes open! XD
She turned her head and her world froze. Even with his mask she still knew him. Ellar had arrived.
She smiled coyly, as if she’d known all along, and walked between the men and women between her and Ellar. When she reached him, he bowed and she curtsied, both in the style befitting equals. She held out her hand and he took it, brushing a kiss over her knuckles before closing the distance between them as the music took up in earnest. Just like they did on those long summer nights, he pulled her close and she rested her hand upon his shoulder as they began to swirl and twirl in time with the music, only this time they weren’t the ones making the music.
I’m 25,000 words into my WIP and I’m just now writing what happens after the first ball. At this rate I’m going to have a 75-100,000 word story. o.o My stories tend to explode on me… 😉
