A Tolkien Blog Party 2020 Tag Questions

Hello again. Yes, I know I’ve already posted twice this week, buuut, I just can’t seem to help jumping on the Tolkien Tags Bandwagon. I found this one over at Allison’s Well, (She has a lovely blog by the way, go check it out, *cackles while shoving you in her direction*) You should also go see Rachel’s blog since this is her Blog Party and she has a giveaway going too! The Questions:

1. What Tolkien character do you think you’re the most like?

Oooh, tough question… Hmm… I think I relate a lot to Pippin. I tend to be the one who follows another person into whatever mischief or whatnot they are getting into. I’m sometimes not the quickest to catch on to missions/quests/things, but will remain loyal to those I love. I also tend to do the first thing that pops in my mind, such as tweak an arrow without thinking of the consequences. I’m very happy-go-lucky and I’m also not likely to grow anymore, except sideways, I’m just grateful I made it to 5’1″! XD

I also identify with Éowyn’s fear of a cage, being locked away until use and old age accept my fate and all hope of valour is lost. I love my family and will do anything for them, even ride into battle disguised as a man.

2. What Tolkien character do you wish you were more like?

Heh, I wish I was like Legolas. I’m mean, come on, who wouldn’t want epic swordsmanship and bow skills while also managing to retain immaculate looking hair? Okay, joking aside, I greatly admire his calm in dangerous situations, his wisdom, and his loyalty, along with his ability to put aside his prejudice and become best friends with a dwarf.

3. What would your dream home in Middle-earth be like?

*sigh* I’ve been dreaming of living in Middle-earth ever since I first watched the movies (confession time: I watched the movies before reading the books, ehehe). I would have a home in Rivendell, a summer home in the Shire, and another home in Lothlorian, along with vacation homes in Laketown, Gondor, and Rohan for whenever I felt like visiting. And needless to say, all my homes would have a grand library with a nook for when I write. They would also have state of the art, awesome kitchens so I could bake all I wanted. (Our oven just went kaput so I’m in baking withdrawal mode. XD)

4. You get to make a movie of the story of Beren and Luthien! Who do you cast as the leads?

o.o I love their story and my sister and I keep wishing Peter Jackson could get the rights to make a Silmarillion movie. Okay, who would I cast as Beren and Luthien… I know I said I love their story, but it’s been a while since I read it so I’ve forgotten some of the other characters… I’ll just stick with casting Beren and Luthien.

For Beren, I’m thinking Ben Barnes. He was awesome as Caspian (although Caspian in the books is blond haired, just sayin’) and I also loved his performance in Seventh Son. Ben could definitely pull off the swoon-worthy epic lover who fights Morgoth alongside his beloved.

Now for Luthien. Lily Collins would be good, I think. She was a perfect blend of sweet and capable in Mirror, Mirror and she can sing, which is something Luthien is known for and I like it when the person singing can actually sing instead of needing a voice-over.

However, my ultimate dream-casting of these two would be Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler because it would be just perfect. Aragorn and Arwen are a lot like Beren and Luthien so I think Viggo and Liv should play them.

5. Have you ever marathoned the LOTR or Hobbit movies?

YES! After watching LOTR for the first time I would marathon them once every year eventually adding the Hobbit movies as they came out. Unfortunately life happened and I haven’t made the time to do so again in a few years, I really need to fix that soon.

6. Do you have a favorite song or track from the movie soundtracks by Howard Shore?

Oh goodness gracious, there’s so many! I LOVE the song Misty Mountains, both versions give me chills and thrill my heart with a fiery passion that wants to go write something like a fight scene or even the journey home after the adventures are done. I also love The Adventure Begins, The World is Ahead, Mune Runes, gah! I just love them all!!! I can’t pick a single favorite, especially spanning the course of six epic movie soundtracks. There’s also The Last Goodbye and Into the West, both those songs hit me right in the feels EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I’m actually listening to the soundtracks as I write this post. ^_^

7. Which of Tolkien’s characters would you like to be best friends with?

>.< <.< >.> <.> Why these questions so hard…? Ahah! That questions does not put a limit on how many and you can always have more than one best friend. So, *rubs hands and cackles evilly* I choose all of them! (Except, you know, the bad ones or the evil jerks like Denethor.)

8. Who of the people in your real life would you want in your company if you had to take the ring to Mordor?

I’m gonna be cheesy and say my family with some cousins thrown in. Our ‘clan’ ranges in skills just like the Fellowship and Bilbo’s company, plus we practically make up both groups combined. Sauron wouldn’t know what hit him! XD

9. Have you read any of Tolkien’s non-Middle-earth works?

Sadly no. I have yet to get any. But I really want to.

10. Is there a book by Tolkien you haven’t read yet, but want to?

Heh, see above. ;D I do want to read everything he’s written, though.
